Introducing Austin Novaland
Austin Novaland, owner of Surf Cove at Playa Perdida, recently joined the staff of SurfWatch providing much needed design expertise and advice. He gave the SurfWatch blog page and Wave Report much needed face lifts, creating a new SurfWatch logo, tweaking all the design elements to give them a higher quality look; advising on page elements to modernize; as well as bringing fresh ideas for SurfWatch outreach and expansion.
"It's changing the big things in huge ways, finding those little things that I don't even notice after all these years, and showing me how to make it better", Tauri Tigerpaw stated when asked about what Austin brings to the team. "He's not afraid to look at each element and how it can be improved, but he does it in a way that is respectful of all the work already put into SurfWatch."
Austin has been surfing in Second Life (SL) since 2011 and as owner of SurfWatch partner, Playa Perdida, a quiet gem of turquoise water and rolling waves, he brings years of experience with the SL surfing world. He recently created a surf sim teleport HUD, a handy, efficient way to travel to the different beaches on the Wave Report. When not surfing and improving SurfWatch, you can find him also creating surf gear, and helping with other group logos and design.
