Kinda hard to be humorous and tongue in cheek about losing another surfing sim, especially one that has been one of my favorite little hang-outs. It may be that not many of you went to Kekoa & Rodazz's surfin beyooootch, but it's been retired recently. It was full of all sorts of little hidden and not so hidden fun things to do. My "byline" picture with the giraffe came from there.
It was a fun little place to explore and have a good time. Tanya and I had planned to go back for another round of kung fu fighting to see who would win this time. Personally, I'll miss it.
But, as some go, new ones crop up, and even sometimes, if we're lucky, old ones come back. If you've not seen it, The Deck is back with the New Vibes Beach. Yes, VW Sands and Lissa Pinion are back with a surfing beach. It's also the new headquarters location for SurfWatch.
If you're having trouble keeping up with what's where, what's still around, and who's on first base, try to keep tabs with the SurfWatch Wave Reports site. Tauri has also just placed some multi-point teleporters based upon this same surfing sim list at a few locations around SL, the SW Headquarters, The SurfWatch Shop, and at Archipelago by the entrance to the Hall of Fame building.
This list is difficult to keep current. If you can, please help us out by letting us know of new surfing sims you've discovered and ones that are no longer available. If you spot something, just holler at one of the Surf Watch staff so we can try to keep things current.

Thanks Kantbe
Who knows...maybe from the ashes of old isla a new vibe will rise.
And thank you for all of you surfers, divers and plain dorks for enjoying it...
At least i managed to hide my bong from the destruction...
That wasn't yours? Wonder who left that one on the beach I grabbed?
Kantbe what beautiful words, thank you. Before I picked up everything I tried to give you the giraffe but unfortunately it was no trans. It was thrilling for me to see you had picked it out as your main pic for surfwatch. xxx…
Isla Libertad was a present from my RL dad, he asked me a few years ago what I wanted for Christmas so I told him an island. I think he was happy to learn it was just a virtual one lol. This is the reason the island meant so much to me. Every month I was there was a gift from him and I had tremendous respect and love for it.
My friend Brody terraformed it for me and from the beginning he’s always gone there and new beautiful islands would sprout whilst I was asleep, it was like magic. He would also always tweak the wave and things there so it would be just right, so I can‘t take all the credit for it‘s beauty. I got many IM’s and notecards from people since it was born, about how beautiful it was. It was always a pleasure to see people there having fun and enjoying it. We celebrated many RL and SL birthday parties and had a party just to have a party partay. I take so many happy memories with me.
Now, I’m having a baby in RL \o/ YAY!!! That will take all my time, attention and love, as it should be. I want to be a wonderful mum & wifey, so with great sadness I closed it as I was not able to put the time, and love into it, it deserved. I have uninstalled SL for the next 18yrs, anyway.
I want to thank all who did care and appreciated and said thx. I’ve kept those IM’s and note cards, they mean a lot to me. Although I won’t have the island, I still take my dear friends from SL who I keep in touch with in RL and for these I am grateful to linden lab. There will never be an island like Isla Libertad but there are so many beautiful and interesting ones starting at one point or another I don’t think SL will be ever be without awesome sims to explore, friends to be made, surf and have fun in, so don‘t be sad. Happy surfing to everyone!!! Have tonz of fun, love and adventure!!! Love & hugz Keks ;)

Kekkkkkk!!!! WOOOT! It's so great to hear from you! This comments section gets whacky sometimes - I think I cleaned out the duplicate comments and kept the one original. We will miss you, and I look forward to keeping in touch and seeing baby pics!
