Kantbe Serious: Happy Birthday Archipelago!

submitted by Kantbe Thursday

Can you believe it? The SLSA Archipelago home is a year old this month! It was actually acquired in mid-September of last year, but the terraforming, the set up of the meeting hut, and the stage that flows into the dance floor on St. James wasn't ready until October.

Here are a few photo's taken that very first day when the SLSA flag was planted for the very first time. Notice it's original topography and compare it to today's. See if you can identify any of the people standing around the flag. (answers provided below).

Can you guess who the first person was to surf at Archipelago? No, not her…. sorry, wasn't him either… yep, that's right, it was Sally LaSalle. I can't tell from this picture if she was one of the guitar pickers for the Grand Opening Event, but it sure looks to me like there's a backup singer/dancer with a flower in her hair in the background.

Rumor has it that MaryAnn Maa is working on a little celebration birthday party and Halloween affair. You can keep up with things by watching the SLSA forum, the web site, or join the new Archipelago Events subscriber that's out on the beach or up by the dance floor.

Turn your screen upside down to see the list of SLSA flag planters:

Tauri's Tidbits and Sticky Situations #8

We were recently having a convo about Second Life (SL) situations and talking about SL etiquette - is there such a thing? You know, the kinds of things you run into in SL and are not sure of the proper way to handle. We'll be periodically posting these dilemmas and looking for genuinely constuctive feedback on your opinion. If you have a comment or a dilemma of your own, let us know and we'll add it to the list!

Dilemma:
If a friend asks you to test a poseball with them, and you clearly see that it is not a poseball position you are comfortable being in with that friend, how do you get out of it?

Bundoran Reef Open pre-Comp Party

submitted by Kantbe Thursday

If ya'll didn't catch MaryAnn Maa's pre-Comp party at Archipelago/St. James the Friday before the Bundoran Reef Open, ya missed some great entertainment. Sonyajevette Charisma and Red Oran were booked for 2 hours of live Rhythm and Blues.
Keep your eyes peeled for other entertaining and fun activities taking place on Archipelago, the SLSA's home sim. Check out the new Subscribe-O-Matic on the beach and dancefloor, and watch the Event Timer on the SLSA's homepage.

I've heard rumors pumpkins are already popping up all over the beach, and Mary has been seen in public wearing pumpkin themed clothing.
