Can you believe it? The SLSA Archipelago home is a year old this month! It was actually acquired in mid-September of last year, but the terraforming, the set up of the meeting hut, and the stage that flows into the dance floor on St. James wasn't ready until October.
Here are a few photo's taken that very first day when the SLSA flag was planted for the very first time. Notice it's original topography and compare it to today's. See if you can identify any of the people standing around the flag. (answers provided below).
Can you guess who the first person was to surf at Archipelago? No, not her…. sorry, wasn't him either… yep, that's right, it was Sally LaSalle. I can't tell from this picture if she was one of the guitar pickers for the Grand Opening Event, but it sure looks to me like there's a backup singer/dancer with a flower in her hair in the background.
