As some of you may have heard, the surfing sim Kona has closed. Surfwatch contacted the two owners and confirmed this is permanent. It's always sad to report the loss of a surfing sim, especially one as long standing and popular as Kona.
There is that rainbow and silver lining with the cloud of this announcement too, though. Dax Kona (13kuiz00), not only confirmed the Kona closure, but said he'd be setting up another surfing sim. Keep your eyes on Surfwatch for the announcement when it will be ready.
In the meantime, the Surfwatch Wave Report has been updated to reflect this change and a few others. The inworld versions of the "simlist" and the SurfSim Teleporter board and HUD has also been updated.
You can see the updated board at Bluff Cove, Playa Perdida Surf Cove or the information hut at Bundy Reef. Each of these boards also has the HUD version available. Updates to the boards others have around SL will automatically receive their updates this coming week. The HUD will generate an update when attached or rezzed.
Wave Report Updated
Started in SL after seeing it at a conference. I had no idea how intensely personal relationships can be with all of these wonderful people behind the AVs.
