SurfWatch Editorial

From the Editor in Chief:

SurfWatch has weathered a lot of storms and yet here we are today with a fresh focus on bringing together surfers and beach lovers with the best virtuality has to offer.  There are other blogs, other opinions, other websites, and plenty of room for everyone to share their passions about what they want out of their Second Life (SL) or other virtual worlds in their own way.  Share them.  Debate them.  Agree, disagree, or agree to disagree.  Make your virtual experience whatever you want to make it.

Read SurfWatch and see if we have posted "lies and drama" as an officer of a surfing organization has recently accused.  We have covered and participated in Surf Camp, Surfari, new surf sims, concerts, real estate, competitions, fashion, Rez Days, interviews, elections, etc. none of which fall under the category "lies and drama".  When we posted what was clearly an opinion piece, for example the opinion piece recently submitted by VW Sands (Vibrations Surf Alliance founder) which he prefaced by stating this was "just his 2 cents", it was stated so in the content.  Kantbe Thursday (SurfWatch Managing Editor) did a recent posting on an issue involving a disciplinary action taken by the Second Life Surfing Association (SLSA) against a member.  After a thorough and detailed investigation, she determined procedure had been followed, although the procedures involved can be further clarified for the members.  There were no "lies and drama" involved.

SurfWatch has spent the past almost two years since starting up again spreading the word of Second Life surfing and all the beaches, waves, parties, and fun that can be had.  Our page views are higher than ever thanks to our readers, which accomplishes our goal of growing Second Life surfing by gaining exposure and which benefits everyone involved in SL surfing, beach sims, merchandising of boards, clothing, groups, etc.  You are welcome to read us, comment, submit a posting, join our staff, or ignore us. We'll continue on in a positive direction doing what we do.

[The opinions expressed in this piece are solely the opinion of the Editor in Chief.]
