"Well... Boneyard will be tricky," said Desirae Beaumont (see pic, right), winner of the last event of 2008 Season I and ranked number two in the Season I table. "Surfers may have to concentrate more on control and less on tricks due to the conditions at Boneyard."A number of surfers have harboured concerns about lag at Boneyard, although the SLSA has assured competitors that all unnesessary scripts will be turned off, the sharks will be scared off the reef and that Boneyard will be restricted to competitors and officials for the duration of the competition.
The full complement of 40 surfers are expected to take part in 2008 Season II's inaugural event, including 12 competitors new to the SLSA event circuit. Preliminary heats will be judged on three waves per competitor, while semi finals and final heats will be judged on four waves per rider.
