Today (July 18, 2018) the SL Surfing Association (SLSA), Sally made an announcement to the surfing community. In part, her announcement said:
"Dear Surfers
It is with some sadness that I must inform you that I need to discontinue my lease of the Tai sim with Linden Labs in its current form.
I will continue to keep the Chi sim (and Bundy and Bluff Cove will continue with their owner Cierra) for now.
I will attempt to sell (transfer) Tai to a new owner.
If no one has taken the sim by August 16th then the sim will be downgraded to a HomeStead Sim on that date.
As an SL Surfing community member, I am offering you the opportunity to take over ownership of the Tai sim rather than selling it outside of the surfing community.
I will transfer the Tai sim to a genuine surf community member for the nominal cost of just one dollar US."
"If you take it over you may keep it in its current location next to Chi, or you of course may have it moved if you wish.
There are currently 8 rental parcels on Tai, 50% occupied. The total potential weekly income of all 8 if full would be 15000 L$, which is 64500 L$ per month, approximately $240 US/month. You may also use Chi as a spectator sim for surfing events."
Since Tai is a full sim, it can serve as not only an SLSA competition venue, but also has the capacity to be a spectator location.
Sally will make her final disposition determination on August 10th. She is also looking after the current residents on Tai and offering them an equivalent sized parcel on Chi. The 10th will allow 6 days to set up parcels and for residents to move to Chi.
If interested, sent an inworld notecard to Sally LaSalle.
