Editor's addition: When asked to make a statement on his induction in to the SLSA Hall of Fame, Johnny Whadd stated:
To every one that voted for me, thank you so very much! The SLSA has been such a huge part of my SL and i truly appreciate all those great folks who supported me and helped me along my journey, especially Shannon Cardalines...she spent so much time with me explaining all the different waves and boards. She was a real mentor and to this day, a wonderful friend to me. I try to pay it forward by helping new surfers and by helping the BoD in any way I can. I'll never forget where I came from and those who helped me along the way...Thank you for this great honor...MAHALO
