SurfWatch Person of the Year 2017

For the first time, SurfWatch will be giving a Person of the Year Award. This person is one who we feel deserves recognition for contributions being made during the year that generally benefit surfing in Second Life® without regard to personal gain for a sim or product. SurfWatch will be announcing the winner of this award by Editors' Choice each year on December 31st, and we are excited to roll out this first year of SurfWatch acknowledgement.

This year, the selection was easy. There’s no question that when she first joined SL in 2012 and shortly thereafter in her first mini-competition on Solace Dreams, that she was hooked on SL surfing. After quite a bit of encouragement, she threw her hat in the ring in 2013 to become one of the longest serving Directors for the SL Surfing Association. In that role, she has not only worked tirelessly to provide the surfing competitions for which the SLSA is known, but also selflessly promoted surfing in general, another one of the SLSA missions.

With great pleasure, the SurfWatch Editor’s Pick for Person of the Year for 2017 is Petra Xaris!!
