Opal's Gems: Aloha Beach takes you to Hawaii

This time my travels have led me to Aloha Beach, Legasta (168,221,21).  This beach sim presents itself as an weathered sim with a deserted looking beach town.  The road and docks are in a state of disrepair and the buildings are worn by the harsh climatic elements typical of living on an island.  It does not take long to realize that you are in an authentic looking community on a Hawaiian Island.  The sim's owner, Hina (Ikapono.catnip), had taken a few vacations to the Hawaiian Islands and decided to recreate Waikiki’s North shore in his sim.  After a year of building and working on this sim, Aloha Beach opened on April 30th of this year.  Although there was a language barrier as I do not speak Japanese, Hina very graciously took us on a wonderful hang gliding tour of the sim that you can access at the top of the highest mountain.

The rez point lands you very close to an awesome skateboard park where you can rez a free skateboard.  Riding the rails and doing tricks like the X Game pros is amazing.  There are a few businesses open along the road leading to the beach.  I personally do not recommend eating in that diner and have called the health inspector for a visit.  The motel is also of questionable quality.  As you continue down the broken roadways, you come to a hangout beach access area.  The surfers here sure got creative with the seating arrangement.   There is also a great bike that gives some exciting photo opportunities.
This sim supports everything necessary in a premier surf sim with board rezzers and waves with nice surfing action.   The landmark for the sim reads, "Aloha Beach is most suitable for those who enjoy surfing".  This is most definitely true.

A great place to spend time is at the banana tree farm overlooking the surf.  I also love the appearance of the lava fields on the mountain tops.  Hina’s favorite views are from his house watching the sunset.
There are several creative and fun ways to hang out with friends and enjoy great views.  Aloha Beach will make you feel that you’re on the best vacation ever.

Hi Anonymous:
It's good to hear from you again! We did check back into the access at this location and did not find anyone banned. Please let me know if we can help in any way.

Hi Anonymous - it is always a pleasure to hear from you and know that you are reading SurfWatch and care about SL surfing. SurfWatch is all about supporting and providing information on surfing sims, businesses, surfers, competitions, fashion, etc. We are not affiliated with any one group. In terms of the surfing sims, we include surfing sims in our wave report unless they wish to remain private. Private sim owners can allow or disallow whoever they want on their sims or may not want to be included on the list - that's up to them. Aloha Beach sim owner was unaware of the ban list so we simply asked her about it to verify whether it was an open surfing sim or whether they wished to be listed on the wave report. Had she chosen to stand by that list, she has that right - SurfWatch has not and will not ask anyone to clear out their ban list. That is completely up to the sim owner who owns the rights to their sim. We try to keep our wave report list up to date with constantly changing sims, and we try to share public surfing sims with the SL surfing community if they are interested. Thank you again for your comments. :-)
