Kantbe Serious: Feeding your head

submitted by Kantbe Thursday

How the heck do Ya'll keep up with what new stuff is going on with the SLSA forum, SurfWatch articles, and the always stable status of Second Life itself? I'm just too lazy to keep log'n in to all those different places just to see if something new had been posted.

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds might be a help. All of the sites I mentioned above and more support publishing sort of a head line of new posts. If you hang out in Windows Explorer 7 or Macintosh Safari a lot, you don't even have to use a special RSS reader to keep up with new posts. You can bookmark the feeds and the headlines are automagically pushed to you.

Here are a couple of links to show how to set up feeds within Explorer 7 and Safari 4:

Some feeds I like to use are:

SL Status: feed://status.secondlifegrid.net/feed/
SLSA Forum: feed://surfslsa.com/forums/feed.php
SurfWatch: feed://surfwatch.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default
SurfWatch Comments: feed://surfwatch.blogspot.com/feeds/comments/default

I even have one for my email, but I think I'll keep that one to myself ;-)

Enjoy, Ya'll!!!!

Ya can also use Firefox's live bookmarks! =) Here's the info on that:

Plus Firefox has tons of Add-ons for RSS that utilize the live bookmarks to show them in a variety of ways, something surely suitable for everyone's needs.
