SLSA Constitional vote - December 9, 2018

Constitutional Vote - Sponsor Voting Rights - December 9, 2018

After discussion between the current Board of Directors we have decided to open a Constitutional vote on Sunday 9th of December. The members eligible to vote will have the opportunity to decide whether or not full season sponsors should have the right to a vote in Director elections. Sponsors who have paid a full season of sponsorship for the season in which the vote takes place in,will gain the right to vote in that seasons Director elections. Should a sponsor already be an eligible voter, they will not gain an extra vote.

The vote will take place on Sunday 9th of December, opening at 12 am SLT and will run until 12am Monday at Solace Dreams.

Important information regarding constitution amendment;
3. Modifications to the SLSA Constitution
3.1. Eligible Voting Membership
3.1.1. SLSA Members are eligible to vote for modifications to the SLSA Constitution, under the following condition:
3.1.1.1. An SLSA Member must have been an active member of the SLSA forum within the six
(6) months prior to the announcement of the vote. “Active member” is an SLSA member that has
made one or more posts to the SLSA forum within the six (6) month period prior to the
announcement of the motion to modify the constitution. The SLSA member must be a current
member of the forum at the time of the vote.
3.2. Motions to modify or add constitutional clauses.
3.2.1. The SLSA Constitution may only be changed via a Special General Meeting of the SLSA.
Said meeting will take place similar to SLSA General Elections, via SLSA voting machine so as
to accommodate all SLSA members eligible to vote in different time zones.
3.2.2. Only motions proposed by the SLSA Board, SL/Linden Labs Officials, or via a petition
signed by a majority of the SLSA’s active (defined as – a member of the SLSA forum who has
made one or more posts within the last six (6) months) membership, shall be considered.
Petitions should be sent either as Note-card, or URL, to all sitting directors
3.2.3. A motion must be approved by a two-thirds (2/3) majority of SLSA members eligible to
vote that vote for the proposition in order for the constitution to be amended.
3.2.4. Proposed Motions for SLSA Constitutional change shall be provided in writing to SLSA
members eligible to vote not less than seven (7) days prior to the Special General Meeting.
3.2.5. The result of the Special General Meeting shall be provided in writing to all SLSA
members not more than seven (7) days after the meeting.

Please note that voter eligibility for Constitutional amendments is different from eligibility to vote in Director elections. The only two requirements are that you have made one or more posts to the SLSA forum 6 months prior to the constitutional modification announcement (June 29th, 2018) and that you are a member of the forum on the date of the vote.
