Mattituck's EPIC Grand Opening Party
Shagwong Cove had the Grand Opening for the Mattituck addition to their (now) four sim spread of gorgeous coastlines on Sunday, November 12th. The day was filled with music, dancing, and amazing conversation as surfers and beach lovers from all over the grid came to enjoy the stunning new scenery.
Diamonte Thomas, owner of Mattituck and Shagwong Cove threw a sensational opening party featuring well known DJs playing epic varieties of music, proving once and for all they know how to bring a crowd.
We expect many great things in the future from this part of the community!
The Bird Surf Challenge Exciting Finale
Fans of the surf world were disappointed when the historical new Bird Surf Challenge had to be postponed. As expected, the committed sim owner, Shilow Carter and competitive surfers, Gia Villano, Kris Marley, and Tyler Peace all pulled together the next day to prove "the surf must go on".
It didn't take long for the crowd to gather around the beach as Peace and Villano went head to head in an exciting heat on Monday, November 13th. The crowd roared as Gia cleared the island, jumping to the next set. She then took the microphone and commentated on the rest of the competition as Peace and Marley competed for glory.
It was an epic surfing battle with Tyler Peace for the win. Villano captured the moment with a perfect quote, "regardless of how we did..we are all winners today..even the ones who came to watch some awesome surfing"
Deadline for SSi Shortboard Competition is Wednesday, November 15th.
The SSi Shortboard Competition hosted by the Chi Surf Sim will begin at 2pm this Saturday, November 18th. Surfers looking to compete in the Second Life Surfing Association (SLSA) should register directly on their website SURFSLSA.org. The deadline to register is November 15th. If you are a new member, wishing to compete, you must create a new account then IM one of the Board of Directors to rush your acceptance.
Heat Draws and competition rashguards will be announced this Friday night in-world in the SLSA group notices. The name of this group is SL Surfing Association. It is a great way to get to know fellow surfers and hone your craft. This will be the 4th of the 5 competitions during this season 2 SLSA competition circuit. Good Luck to all that register!
