Submitted by Solsty Kismet

☼ Sailing with Surfers ~ Tuesday Sept, 5, 2017

The surfers of Second Life will be taking a break from their grueling practice schedules to relax and go sailing with friends on Tuesday, September 5th at around 11am SLT on the Blake Sea. If you have a dock we can launch off, please contact Solsty Kismet (Solsty.Resident) as soon as possible so that we can update our starting location. If we do not hear from anyone, we will sail out of a random location:

SurfWatch: The Legends Series

The interviews comprising SurfWatch's The Legends Series are by no means meant to reflect the totality of those individuals involved with the creation and promotion of Second Life (SL) surfing.  There were many very instrumental individuals that either came before SurfWatch started in 2008 or SurfWatch did not have an opportunity to officially interview them.  Kimmy Jigsaw, Sally LaSalle, Thor Bishop, Barchan Paderborn, Syx Toshi, Cierra Theriac, Radical Twang, Tightline Kidd, Lissa Pinion, Dee Waverider, Bobbi Laval, Cipriano Grut, Kantbe Thursday, Rhett McMahn, Desne Aabye, Marianna Monentes, Clark Torok, Ashleigh Dickins, Sierra Sugar, Rayzza Rubble, Gerran Voss, Craig Stallion, Christine Daffodil, just to name a few that come quickly to mind, and The Legends Series is not intended to exclude or minimize any of the very important and influential people that started and contributed to the continuation of SL surfing.  There are other sources that can fill in the gaps such as The History of the Second Life Surfing Association (SLSA) and the SLSA Hall of Fame museum at Solace Beach.  Surfing group and team profiles also contain a lot of good historical information for organizations not associated with the SLSA.  We encourage new surfers to check all available sources to get a full picture. We appreciate this opportunity to revisit the interviews contained in our archives and share them with the new SL surf community.  If you would like to add some information about someone you feel was important to SL surfing that may not have been mentioned, please feel free to post in the comments, and we can use this opportunity to honor their contributions as well.
